Standards of Care: Providing Health Care During a Prolonged Health Emergency

March 3 to April 5, 2010 8:15 a.m.
varies (statewide)

You are invited to attend a public forum to explore the issues surrounding Standards of Care: Providing Health Care During a Prolonged Public Health Emergency.

To address concerns about what would happen during a prolonged public health emergency – when an immediate and overwhelming demand for healthcare services results in a critical shortage of resources– the Connecticut Department of Public Health convened a multi-disciplinary work group to create a framework for addressing these issues.  The workgroup released a draft whitepaper (see attached), which is the topic of this forum, and is now seeking comments from stakeholders and the general public.

The attached PDF file has a schedule and details about upcoming public forums being held around the state.
The content of each forum will be the same; however presenters will be specific to each region of the state. If you are interested in attending, please attend the forum location nearest to where you live.
The forums are free and open to the general public, as well as healthcare, public health, EMS, emergency management, first responders and others involved with or interested in emergency planning and response.
Continental breakfast will be served at all events.
