February is American Heart Month
More than one in three Americans over the age of 18 has cardiovascular disease.
Every minute someone dies from a coronary event in the United States.
African-Americans have the highest age-adjusted death rate for cardiovascular disease followed by Caucasians, Hispanics, and Asians. Research studies and reports have documented disparities in quality and access to health care for racial and ethnic minorities. Learn more about Healthcare Disparities and Heart Disease and initiatives to address the problem.
